Permanent recruitment — Inventory clerk

You hire directly, on your own payroll. We find, check and present the candidates.

Sector : Warehousing and logistics · NOC 2021 14403

The job

An inventory clerk keeps the gap between what the system says you have and what is actually on the shelves under control. They run cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, adjust quantities with a documented reason and produce the reports purchasing and accounting rely on. A good inventory clerk cuts rush orders, lost sales and year-end write-offs.

Main tasks

The profile that succeeds

A good inventory clerk is curious: a discrepancy isn't a number to fix, it's a question to answer. They document every adjustment so an auditor can follow it, work well with the warehouse without blaming it, and can present a simple report to a manager who has no time to read a 2,000-row file. Discretion matters too, since they see stock values and sometimes losses.

Before you give us the mandate

Usual requirements

The role needs solid Excel skills (filters, pivot tables), experience with an ERP and a methodical approach. Training in logistics or inventory management is an asset, but proven experience often counts for more.

Frequently asked questions

Inventory clerk or buyer?

Both sit in the same NOC group (14403), but a buyer negotiates with suppliers; an inventory clerk controls quantities. Tell us which one you need.

Why do some regional wages have an asterisk?

They come from a Statistics Canada small-area estimate (2024 period), as Job Bank indicates; the others come from the Labour Force Survey (2023-2024).

Is a diploma required?

Not necessarily. If you require one, put it in the Job Order and we will verify it.

Can you recruit for a temporary replacement?

No. We only do permanent recruitment: you hire the candidate directly on your own payroll.
