Main tasks

The profile that succeeds

The mechanic fleets keep is methodical in diagnosis: they don't swap parts at random, they test, measure and document. They keep work orders complete, which protects the company during an audit. They can tell dispatch clearly whether a vehicle can go back out, and they refuse to sign off a vehicle that isn't safe.

Before you give us the mandate

Usual requirements

Employers usually look for vocational training in heavy road vehicle mechanics (programs are listed on Inforoute FPT) or proven equivalent experience, command of diagnostic tools and, often, their own tools. If your shop requires a specific accreditation, put it in the Job Order.
